BRIGHT BRUSSELS 2023 – ENTRY REGULATIONS FOR ARTISTIC PROJECTS COMPETITION
Description
Bright Brussels is an event organised by visit.brussels, the Brussels Tourism Agency, on the initiative of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region.
It is a free light festival intended for visitors from Belgium and abroad and for Brussels residents. The seventh edition of the festival will take place from Thursday 16 February to Sunday 19 February 2023. The installations will be visible to the public from 6.30 pm to 11.00 pm.
The aim of the event is to showcase certain districts of Brussels using light, and for visitors to (re)discover places they have often forgotten or not got to know.
All profiles are welcome: lighting designers, architects, designers and artists from all backgrounds. However, the team must be composed of a lighting professional (artistic manager of the project) and a technical director (responsible for the technical monitoring of the project). These different roles may be held by the same person.
In 2023, the Brussels Region will showcase its extensive Art Nouveau heritage by opening up private collections and making the capital's abundant hidden treasures accessible. Brussels is the birthplace of this current, led by Victor Horta from 1890, whose many architectural buildings still testify to this today.
To mark the occasion, the organisation has decided that the "Art Nouveau" theme will be the overarching theme of Bright Brussels 2023. Art Nouveau heritage will be showcased throughout the event and there will be specific collaborations with cultural stakeholders.
With regard to the works on the routes, there is no compulsory theme, but highlighting Art Nouveau in original creations is a plus.
